What can The Lord of the Rings, a crossover between animated cinema and the exploration of a new era of the universe, do? This new Lord of the Rings film is still an adventure film in some ways: exciting, colorful, tense, and engaging. Animation features colorful and adventurous design and presentation, with well-built characters and fight sequences. Most of the sound design and action sequences are crisp and tense, but the world is still a bit too full-on for the thrills of The Lord of the Rings. The world created by J.
It suffers from what modern animated cinema and Hollywood suffer from
R. R. Tolkien is vast and ambitious, with a variety of approaches and styles to explore, allowing us to see many different aspects of its world and setting. However, instead of creating a wonderful, classic story and world that approached Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings, The War of the Rohirrim is the definition of beautiful chaos that still both amazes and fails to impress me. It’s designed with static, colorful animation, ambitious concepts, and great action sequences, but is dried up by clichéd aspects of character development and engagement, uneven writing, and boring anime tropes.
The concepts and the world could have been handled quite well
It lacks what made Jackson’s Lord of the Rings great, because unlike Jackson’s approach, many of the characters are uninteresting and you don’t connect with them on an emotional level or remember them. It almost feels like it’s rehashing the worst aspects of the Hobbit trilogy. It’s a shame because the beautiful character designs and settings are breathtaking, despite the poor use of CGI. The singing performances are all very good, as is the soundtrack and the exciting moments. But in the case of the Lord of the Rings story, it’s not really like the Lord of the Rings story.
And yet it did
You could have called it anything else and I would have thought it would be something new and different than the Lord of the Rings. But let me tell you, no one asked for the anime and the Lord of the Rings to become something. Kudos to the studio and the filmmakers for doing it.
